The Gurkha Contingent marches past at the Police Day Parade 2005 held for the last time at the Police academy grounds in Thomson Road. The officers are dressed in the old no. 3 dress and carry the M16 rifle

Members of the GC are trained to be highly skilled and are selected for their display of strong discipline and dedication in their tasks. The principle role of the contingent is to be a special guard force, and it is currently used as a counter-terrorist force.
