拂晓，又称黎明，古称昧爽，指早晨在日出之前的太阳已在地平线下6度以上，天将晓而尚暗之时段，日常定义是物体已经能够被辨识，而且户外活动也可以开始进行的时段。

航海拂晓是日出之前太阳仍在地平线下12度的时段。航海拂晓的定义是阳光仅足以辨识物体。

天文拂晓是黎明之前，太阳仍在地平线下18度的时段。天文拂晓的定义是阳光开始渗入天空的时刻，在这之前的天空仍是完全黑暗的。

拂晓不会与日出混淆，那是太阳的边缘刚刚从地平线露出来的时刻，叫做破晓。

在西方的民俗学者认为这是恶魔、精灵、鬼魂和魔鬼等不祥之物，甚至撒但都会消失在曙光之中，因为这些来自黑暗的生物憎恨光线，特别是来自太阳的光，在基督徒之前的凯尔特人也有相同的信仰。
