Sulfuryl

The sulfuryl group is a functional group in inorganic chemistry consisting of a sulfur atom covalently bonded to two oxygen atoms (O₂SX₂).

It occurs in compounds such as sulfuryl chloride, SO₂Cl₂ and sulfuryl fluoride, SO₂F₂.

In organic chemistry, this group is found in sulfones (RSO₂R'), and sulfonyl halides (RSO₂X) where it is called the sulfonyl group.
