菅原道真（845年8月1日－903年3月26日），出生于承和12年阴历6月25日（845年8月1日），卒于延喜3年阴历2月25日（903年3月26日）。是日本平安时代的学者、汉诗人、政治家。长于汉诗、被日本人尊为学问之神（相对地，日本传统文化中的武神则是坂上田村麻吕）。33歳时被任为文章博士。醍醐天皇时晋升为右大臣、但受到左大臣藤原时平的谗言、被贬到九州太宰府担任权帅（太宰府副统帅），后抑郁以终。

Sugawara no Michizane(菅原 道真/菅原 道真, August 1, 845 – March 26, 903), also known as Kan Shōjō(菅丞相) or Kanke(菅家), was a scholar, poet, and politician of the Heian Period of Japan. He is regarded as an excellent poet, particularly in Chinese poetry, and is today revered in Shinto as the god of learning, Tenman-Tenjin(天満天神, often shortened to Tenjin).
