夏令营是暑假期间提供予儿童及青少年的一套受监管的活动，参加者可从活动中寓学习于娱乐，具有一定的教育意义。

不同种类的夏令营提供不同种类活动，例如有些提供户外拓展训练，以训练体能和团队精神；有些则提供语言、艺术、音乐等的训练。

大多数的夏令营是由教育机关所赞助，然而现今越来越多私人单位去举办营队活动。

过去营队只有开放给来自特定学校或特定地区的学生；近几年营队活动已经开放给来自不同成长背景及各地区的小孩们参与。

另外还有专门设计给对中文与中华文化有兴趣的国外学生之营队课程。

Summer camp is a supervised program for children or teenagers conducted during the summer months in some countries. Children and adolescents who attend summer camp are known as campers. This is not to be confused with summer school, which is usually a required academic curriculum for a student to make up work not accomplished during the academic year, whereas summer camps can include academic work, but is not a requirement for graduation.
