San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission

The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) is a California State commission dedicated to the protection, enhancement and responsible use of the San Francisco Bay. The Commission was created by California's McAteer-Petris Act, which the legislature passed on September 17 1965. The legislation was promoted by the Bay Area Council, a local business organization. It is the first regional government entity created for an urban area by legislative action. Their offices are located on 50 California Street, San Francisco.
