胶质母细胞瘤(Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)、glioblastoma、grade IV astrocytoma)是脑癌中死亡率最高和最常见的一种。大多数的脑癌和胰腺癌都是由多形性胶质母细胞（神经胶质细胞）瘤形成的。52%的薄壁组织脑癌和20%的颅内脑癌是胶质母细胞瘤。不过虽然它是最常见的初发脑癌肿瘤，在北美和欧洲每十万人中仅发生两到三例。胶质母细胞瘤有巨细胞星形细胞瘤和神经胶质肉瘤两种。胶质母细胞瘤也是最常见的大脑癌，因此犬被用来作为研究人类治疗方法的模型。治疗方法包括化学疗法、放射疗法、放射手术、皮质甾类疗法、抗血管生成疗法和手术。

Signs and symptoms are initially non specific. They may include headaches, personality changes, nausea, and symptoms similar to that of a stroke. Worsening of symptoms is often rapid. This can progress to unconsciousness.
