烟雾弹（英文：smoke grenade）是一种利用金属罐承载的手榴弹，作为地对地发出信号的用途，还可以作为空降地区或攻击目标的信号。另外，烟雾弹更作为掩护、分散敌人注意以及发送信号等的用途。烟雾弹并非一种致命的武器，除非不正确的使用才会造成损伤。烟雾弹内部包含了一个钢铁容器，以及几个专为放射气体所制造的孔眼（位置在于烟雾弹的头尾两端）。

另一种烟雾弹是较为有爆炸性的，内部成分主要是白磷。这种烟雾弹一但与空气接触的话，就会立即引爆，还会散发出一种显眼的黄色火花，并且附带着过量的白色气体（白磷），这种爆炸力就等于两个普通燃烧弹（燃烧弹是用来对付敌军的武装车辆，由手提式的榴弹发射器射出）。同时，用户也必须注意当时的风向，以方便击中目标。
