天空岛
天空岛（英语：Sky island）指受到地理环境所分隔的高海拔栖地，栖息在天空岛上的物种在长期地理隔离之下，不同天空岛的族群可能逐渐产生基因上的分歧。特有种、垂直迁移和残留种都可以在天空岛发现。
生物地理学关心天空岛上的物种多样性，而保育生物学注意天空岛上的生物多样性。天空岛形成的重要因素之一是与其他山脉的绝对距离，因为距离太远故而形成了独立的生物栖息地。
一些天空岛还是残遗种保护区，生活着冰河时期的孑遗。在一些情况下，当地物种会形成新的物种，类似加拉帕戈斯群岛上发生的那样。
