匕首指双刃的短刀或短剑,全长约在10~30cm左右。中国最早在夏代就出现,一开始为青铜制,到了战国时期因铁器的发达改用钢铁制。一般作为近战防备武器,可以对目标投掷或突刺。匕首也是中国历代刺客所爱用的武器,著名成语图穷匕现即使来自刺客将匕首藏在地图的卷轴里以刺杀别国君王的行动,荆轲刺秦王便是一个例子。
