Sengkang

Sengkang (Chinese:盛港, Tamil:செங்காங), also known as Sengkang New Town, and formerly known as Jalan Kayu/Kangkar, is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore.
Originally a fishing village, the area is undergoing rapid development under the ambition of the Housing and Development Board (HDB) to transform it into a fully mature housing estate. The town now comprises four large neighbourhoods. Sengkang is one of the 55 urban planning areas outlined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority for long-term land use planning purposes.
