规模经济（Economies of scale）是指扩大生产规模引起经济效益增加的现象。规模经济反映的是生产要素的集中程度同经济效益之间的关系。

规模经济的优越性在于：

随着产量的增加，长期平均总成本下降的特性。但这并不仅仅意味着生产规模越大越好，因为规模经济追求的是能获取最佳经济效益的生产规模。一旦企业生产规模扩大到超过一定的规模，边际效益却会逐渐下降，甚至跌破趋向零，乃至变成负值，引发规模不经济现象。
