Sangar

Sangar (Persian: سنگر) is a surname found in Indo-Persian settlements in Middle East and South Asia. Most common in Iran, it is also found in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India where it is a surname of the Brahmin community. Sangar originally comes from the Persian word sang. Many villages in Iran are named after this surname.
