松鼠猴属（学名Saimiri），是卷尾猴科下的一属，也常常专门被列为松鼠猴亚科，包括松鼠猴等五种新世界猴，生活中美和南美的热带雨林地区。

体毛较短，多为黄褐色。体型较小，体长在25-35厘米，尾长35-42厘米，体重约为750-1100克。大脑占体重的比例极高，为1:17，而人类一般只有1:35。

日行动物，树栖性。尾巴主要用于平衡，在树枝闲跳跃。

群居，种群可达500头之多。杂食性，主要以水果和昆虫为食，偶尔也吃坚果、花蕾、卵和小脊椎动物。

交配受季节影响，母猴每年在雨季分娩，孕期为150-170天。平均寿命约为15年，圈养条件可以活得长一些。

Squirrel monkeys are New World monkeys of the genus Saimiri. They are the only genus in the subfamily Saimirinae. The name of the genus is of Tupi origin (sai-mirim or gai-mbirin < sai 'monkey' and mirim 'small'), and was also used as an English name by early researchers.
