二次曲面指任何n维的超曲面，其定义为多元二次方程的解的轨迹。

在坐标 $\{x_0, x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_D\}$ ，二次曲面的定义为代数方程：

\sum_{i,j=0}^D Q_{i,j} x_i x_j + \sum_{i=0}^D P_i x_i + R = 0

。
