昆士兰州（Queensland），位于澳洲的东北部，论面积为澳洲的第二大州，人口则排名全澳第三。据2007年12月统计，昆士兰人口已突破438万人，占全国总人口的20%。

昆士兰第一大城为首府布里斯本，人口100.79万（2007年3月数据），大都会区人口约两百万。第二大城是观光重镇黄金海岸，人口58.3万（2007年10月数据）。

由于昆士兰有相当广大的地区位于热带、盛产矿物与蔬果，州民热爱运动，素有“阳光之州”（Sunshine State）的美称。而前任州总理彼得·毕提则倡导知识经济，鼓励人们改称昆士兰为“智能之州”（Smart State）。

Queensland (abbreviated as Qld) is the second-largest and third-most-populous state in Australia. Situated in the north-east of the country, it is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean. Queensland has a population of 4,750,500, concentrated along the coast and particularly in the state's South East. The state is the world's sixth largest sub-national entity, with an area of 1,852,642 km. The capital and largest city in the state is Brisbane, Australia's third largest city. Often referred to as the "Sunshine State", Queensland is home to 10 of Australia's 30 largest cities and is the nation's third largest economy.
