Pyhäntä is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Oulu and is part of the Northern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 1,591 (30 June 2015) and covers an area of 847.48 square kilometres (327.21 sq mi) of which 36.72 km (14.18 sq mi) is water. The population density is 1.96 inhabitants per square kilometre (5.1/sq mi). Neighbouring municipalities are Kajaani, Kiuruvesi, Kärsämäki, Pyhäjärvi, Siikalatva, and Vieremä. The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
