Pseudotrichonotus

Pseudotrichonotus is a small genus of aulopiform fish consisting of just two species, commonly called sandliving lizardfishes or sand-diving lizardfishes. This is the only genus in the family Pseudotrichonotidae.
As their scientific name suggests, they physically resemble the sandfish (genus Trichonotus). They are small fish, about 9 cm (3.5 in) long, living on sandy sea floors in the southeastern Pacific, and are related to the true lizardfishes.
