前哥伦布时期（英语：Pre-Columbian）包括，在明显受到来自欧洲文化影响前，美洲的全部历史和史前史。时间跨度上，从旧石器时代人类最初迁入并居住于美洲，直到近代欧洲人殖民美洲。

就字面上讲，「前哥伦布时期」这个术语仅仅指西班牙航海家克里斯多福·哥伦布于1492年第一次来到美洲大陆之前的历史。但在实际应用上，这个术语通常还涵盖到美洲本土文化在哥伦布首次登陆美洲大陆之后数十年，或几世纪后的历史，直到这些本土文化显著受到欧洲文化的影响及侵略。因此，也常常用到一些替代用语:「接触前的美洲」(Precontact Americas),「殖民前的美洲」(Pre-Colonial Americas)，「史前美洲」(Prehistoric Americas)，而在拉丁美洲，常常用到「前西班牙的」(Pre-Hispanic)
