比特犬（英语：Pit Bull），现代美国比特斗牛犬、美国斯塔福郡㹴和斯塔福郡斗牛㹴或这些狗的杂种的总称。有人将美国斗牛犬和牛头㹴也归为比特类犬。亦可指20世纪现代牛头㹴的祖先，性情凶猛，对陌生人有敌意，对饲主忠诚。****行政院农业委员会公告之「具攻击性之宠物」，此类危险性犬只出入公共场所或公众得出入之场所，应由成年人伴同，并以长度不超过一点五公尺之绳或炼牵引，配戴不影响散热之透气口罩，若违反可以《动物保护法》处罚。

Pit bull is the common name for a type of dog. Formal breeds often considered in North America to be of the pit bull type include the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The American Bulldog is also sometimes included. Many of these breeds were originally developed as fighting dogs from cross breeding bull-baiting dogs (used to hold the faces and heads of larger animals such as bulls) and terriers. After the use of dogs in blood sports was banned, such dogs were used as catch dogs in the United States for semi-wild cattle and hogs, to hunt and drive livestock, and as family companions, although some owners still bred and used them for illegal dog fighting. This practice continues to this day, but is illegal in many nations.
