骇鸟（学名Phorusrhacidae）是一类大型的肉食性及不能飞行的鸟类，于6200万-200万年前新生代的南美洲，是非常普遍的猎食者。牠们约有1-3米高。

本物种最初被归入鹤形目，而当中现今最接近牠们的相信是叫鹤科，后来骇鸟科、叫鹤科及其他相关连的化石物种从鹤形目独立出来成为叫鹤目（Cariamiformes），是地鸟亚纲澳大利亚鸟下纲的成员之一。

泰坦巨鸟（Titanis walleri）是骇鸟中一种较大的物种，是唯一一种在南美洲以外的北美洲发现。在300万年前形成巴拿马地峡时出现的南北美洲生物大迁徙，牠是当中唯一的大型猎食者。泰坦巨鸟的祖先不明，不过可以知道在北美洲会有更多发现。
