安全岛，又称交通岛、分隔岛，是一种行人过路设施，位于马路的中央或快车道与慢车道之间，供行人暂避车辆并分隔两方向或快慢车道。而一些安全岛会设有两个安全岛灯（英语称为Bollard），分别在安全岛的两端，提醒司机闪避，以确保岛上行人的安全。部分安全岛上，还配合交通号志或斑马线使用，以控制道路的交通流量，增加过路行人的安全。

A refuge island, also known as a pedestrian refuge or pedestrian island, is a small section of pavement or sidewalk, completely surrounded by asphalt or other road materials, where pedestrians can stop before finishing crossing a road. It is typically used when a street is very wide, as the pedestrian crossing can be too long for some individuals to cross in one traffic light cycle, they can often been seen on roads with higher speed limits also.
