包装是指对象外部的保护层和装饰，不同的对象有不同的包装方式和材质，一些容器如盒子等也是专作为包装之用。

常见的包装材料有气泡布、信封、充气包装、瓦通纸盒、塑胶盒、金属盒、木盒……等，可以保护物品。常见装饰性的包装物料则有花纸、红包袋、礼物盒、礼封等。一些需要保鲜的物品（如食品）常会用真空包装。另外塑胶、铝箔等也是常见的食品包装材料。
