动眼神经（oculomotor nerve），是12对脑神经之中的第三对，编号III。负责控制眼球的转动、眼球内水晶体厚度的调整、瞳孔的缩放。

动眼神经的神经核位于中脑的上丘部位的Edinger-Westphal nucleus. 为支配眼肌的主要运动神经，包括运动纤维和副交感纤维两种成分。动眼神经起自中脑上丘水平的动眼神经核，此核较大，形状不规则，长约5～6mm。动眼神经核可分为三部分： ①外侧核为运动核，位于中脑四叠体上丘水平的导水管周围腹侧灰质中，左右各一。发出的运动纤维走向腹侧，穿过红核组成动眼神经，由中脑脚间窝出脑，在大脑后动脉与小脑上动脉之间穿过，向前与后交通动脉伴行，穿过海绵窦之侧壁经眶上裂人眶(лат. fissura orbitalis superior)，支配上睑提肌、上直肌、内直肌、下斜肌、下直肌。 ②正中核或称佩利阿（Perlia）核，位于中线上，两侧E-w核之间，不成对，发出的副交感神经纤维到达两眼内直肌，主管两眼的辐辏运动。 ③埃一魏（Edinger-Westphal，E-W）核位于正中核的背外侧，中脑导水管周围的灰质中，发出的副交感神经节前纤维人动眼神经，至睫状神经节交换神经元，其节后纤维支配瞳孔括约肌和睫状肌，得瞳孔放大及晶体变厚而视近物，参与缩瞳和调节反射。

The oculomotor nerve is the third cranial nerve. It enters the orbit via the superior orbital fissure and innervates muscles that enable most movements of the eye and that raise the eyelid. The nerve also contains fibers that innervate the muscles that enable pupillary constriction and accommodation (ability to focus on near objects as in reading). The oculomotor nerve is derived from the basal plate of the embryonic midbrain. Cranial nerves IV and VI also participate in control of eye movement.
