物化 Objectification

物化，是一种客体化（即对象化，objectify）的过程，透过社会分工来区分物我，也就是把某些东西当作劳动的对象，是可以被控制、分解、操弄、改变、转型、交换、消费、生产…的东西。人类在劳动中，必须先物化身体，把身体当作劳动工具使用，进而得到劳动的报酬或成果，是一个交易的过程。在这个过程中，不但将报酬与成果物化，成为可以交换而得的东西，自己的身体也必须跟着物化，以便衡量，并以劳力的方式交易出去。有人的地方就有物化，物化是人类生存的必要过程。

人类在不同的历史阶段采用不同的人类组织和社会制度去进行物化，是个历史进程，物我、人我关系也因此不断地变化。现代大部分人类采取市场机制和资本主义生产模式，物化就采取了商品化（commodification）的形式，人们开始用商品化来改造自然与自身（身体、国家、经济、文化等等）。商品化的形式大大便利了物化的深度、速度与强度，人们已经不能完全控制这样的一种形式的物化或商品化，所以也被称为异化。
