捻军
捻军（1853年－1868年），清朝官方称之为捻匪，是一个活跃在长江以北安徽北部及江苏、山东、河南三省部分地区的反清的农民军，兴起后一度响应同时期的太平军，捻军重要人物为沃王张洛行（又称张乐行，张宗禹之叔）、奏王苗沛霖、梁王张宗禹、遵王赖文光、鲁王任柱等人。捻军持续活动16年，全盛时，曾经斩杀清朝蒙古亲王僧格林沁，最后分为东西两支，由清朝将领李鸿章、左宗棠平定。

Nian Rebellion 捻军The Nian Rebellion (simplified Chinese:捻军起义; traditional Chinese:捻亂; Hanyu Pinyin:niǎn jūn qǐ yì; Tongyong Pinyin:nian luan; Wade–Giles:nien-chün ch'i-yi) was an armed uprising that took place in northern China from 1851 to 1868, contemporaneously with Taiping Rebellion (1851–1864) in South China. The rebellion failed to topple the Qing dynasty, but caused the immense economic devastation and loss of life that became one of the major long-term factors in the collapse of the Qing regime in the early 20th century. |
