神经科学（英语：neuroscience），又称神经生物学，是专门研究神经系统的结构、功能、发育、演化、遗传学、生物化学、生理学、药理学及病理学的一门科学。对行为及学习的研究都是神经科学的分支。

对人脑研究是个跨领域的范畴，当中涉及分子层面、细胞层面、神经小组、大型神经系统，如视觉神经系统、脑干、脑皮层。

最高层次的研究就是结合认知科学成为认知神经科学，其专家被称为认知心理学家。一些研究人员相信认知神经科学提供对思维及知觉的全面了解，甚至可以代替心理学。

神经科学致力于科学地研究神经系统。尽管神经科学学会成立于1969年，但是对于大脑的研究很早就已经开始。其研究范围包括对神经系统的结构，功能，进化史，发育，遗传，生物化学，生理学，药理学，生物信息学，计算神经生物学和病理学研究。传统的神经科学是生物科学的一个分支。然而，近年来神经科学开始与其他学科有了越来越多的交叉与融合，如认知和神经心理学，计算机科学，统计学，物理学，哲学和医学科学。

Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system. Traditionally, neuroscience has been seen as a branch of biology. However, it is currently an interdisciplinary science that collaborates with other fields such as chemistry, cognitive science, computer science, engineering, linguistics, mathematics, medicine (including neurology), genetics, and allied disciplines including philosophy, physics, and psychology. It also exerts influence on other fields, such as neuroeducation, neuroethics, and neurolaw. The term neurobiology is usually used interchangeably with the term neuroscience, although the former refers specifically to the biology of the nervous system, whereas the latter refers to the entire science of the nervous system.
