音乐录像带（英语：Music Video）是指与歌曲搭配的短片，现代的音乐影片主要是为了作为宣传音乐唱片而制作出来，即使音乐影片的起源可以追溯至很久以前，但直到1980年代美国音乐电视网（Music Television，MTV）成立之后音乐影片才开始成为现今的样貌与普及，音乐影片可以包括所有影片创作的形式，包含动画、真人动作影片、纪录片等。

音乐录像带的正确简称为MV，但在**等地区，早年曾误用MTV作简称，一般认为是受到MTV频道的影响。时至今日，很多人已开始改称用回正确的简称。

Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
