莫卧儿帝国（波斯语：شاهان گورکانی‎ Shāhān-e Gūrkānī；乌尔都语：مغلیہ سلطنت‎；英文：Mughal Empire，1526年－1858年），是成吉思汗和帖木儿的后裔──巴卑尔，自阿富汗南下入侵印度创建的帝国。“莫卧儿”意即“蒙古”。在帝国的全盛时期，领土几乎囊括整个印度次大陆，以及中亚的阿富汗等地。帝国的官方语言是波斯语，但是统治者是信奉伊斯兰教、有察合台汗国贵族血统的蒙古人。莫卧儿帝国的统治者属于帖木儿王朝。

The Mughal Empire (Urdu:مغلیہ سلطنت‎, Mug̱ẖliyah Salṭanat) or Mogul Empire, self-designated as Gurkani (Persian:گورکانیان‎‎, Gūrkāniyān, meaning "son-in-law"), was an empire based in the Indian Subcontinent, established and ruled by a Muslim Persianate dynasty of Chagatai Turco-Mongol origin that extended over large parts of the Indian subcontinent and Afghanistan.
