Milston

Milston is a civil parish in Wiltshire situated approximately 12 miles north of Salisbury and is separated from neighbouring Durrington by the River Avon. The name is derived from the Old English midlest tūn, meaning "middlemost farm/settlement". It consists of two hamlets: Milston and Brigmerston, plus some farm buildings on Salisbury Plain. The population in 2011 was 130 – the same as in 1861.
