西班牙面积504,750平方公里（当中陆地面积499,542平方公里，水面面积5,240平方公里），居欧洲第五位，本土最北端到最南端大约830千米，东西方向长1000千米。绝大部份领土位于伊比利亚半岛，东北隔比利牛斯山脉与法国和安道尔相连，西邻葡萄牙。南隔直布罗陀海峡与非洲的摩洛哥相望。北面比斯开湾，东临地中海，西北、西南临大西洋。

Spain is a country located in southwestern Europe occupying most (about 85 percent) of the Iberian Peninsula and includes a small exclave inside France called Llívia as well as the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Western Atlantic Ocean 108 km (67 mi) off northwest Africa, and five places of sovereignty (plazas de soberanía) on and off the coast of North Africa: Ceuta, Melilla, Islas Chafarinas, Peñón de Alhucemas, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera.
