高龄产妇是指生产第一胎时年满35岁，或受孕时满34岁的妇女。

年纪越大，患上妊娠高血压或妊娠糖尿病机会将会比年轻产妇高，出现内科并发症如心脏病或肾脏病、糖尿病的机会也会比较高。由于卵子老化，染色体异常的机会也会比年轻产妇高，增加胎儿发育不正常的机会，例如唐氏综合症。另外，高龄产妇也比较容易产生自发性流产、早产、胎盘早期剥离等情况。
