Manerplaw

Manerplaw was a village in Kayin State (Karen State), Myanmar (Burma) and was the proposed capital for an independent Kawthoolei State for the Karen people. The headquarters of the Karen National Union (KNU) were located in Manerplaw until it fell to Tatmadaw soldiers on 4 February 1995. Manerplaw had a population of around 3,000 in 1992 until its evacuation following Tatmadaw offensives.
