BBC纪录片《我们的地球》 Following the flow of wind means that they're always heading toward areas of low pressure. When tropical cyclone is an area of low pressure that forms in the tropical regions of the world. It's an area of low pressure around the Artic Circle that's locked in place and houses some very cold air. Of course fluid likes to move from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure, and the heart creates those pressures. 202329 Stage Three: The Birth of a Hurricane As the air continues to rise rapidly, an area of low pressure forms beneath it. When sound moves through water, the water can get pulled apart enough that the areas of low pressure create a small bubble of water vapor in a process called cavitation. A vortex is the effect caused by wind hitting the surface of a building, creating an area of low pressure on the opposite side, then swirling around to fill it. As strong winds moved around these structures, areas of low pressure emerged on the opposite side of them, creating suction forces that pulled at the buildings, causing them to sway back and forth. 202329 Chapter 3: The Birth of Wind As the sun warms the Earth's surface, the air above it heats up and begins to rise, creating areas of lower pressure. On one side, the air moved in the opposite direction to the ball's spin, causing increased pressure, while on the other side, the air moved in the same direction as the spin, creating an area of lower pressure.
Low-pressure area![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A low-pressure area, low or depression, is a region where the atmospheric pressure is lower than that of surrounding locations. Low-pressure systems form under areas of wind divergence which occur in the upper levels of the troposphere. The formation process of a low-pressure area is known as cyclogenesis. Within the field of meteorology, atmospheric divergence aloft occurs in two areas. The first area is on the east side of upper troughs which form half of a Rossby wave within the Westerlies (a trough with large wavelength which extends through the troposphere). A second area of wind divergence aloft occurs ahead of embedded shortwave troughs which are of smaller wavelength. Diverging winds aloft ahead of these troughs cause atmospheric lift within the troposphere below, which lowers surface pressures as upward motion partially counteracts the force of gravity. |
