蛛形纲（或蜘蛛纲，学名：Arachnida）是节肢动物下的一个纲，有65,000~73,000左右的物种，包括了蜘蛛、蝎子、壁虱、螨等。蜘蛛、蝎子等常被大众误解为昆虫，虽然同属节肢动物门，可是它们都独立于昆虫纲，属于蛛形纲。蛛型目动物的特征是拥有八条腿，身体也不同于昆虫，分为头胸部和腹部两部分，而且也不用像昆虫一样经过卵、幼虫、蛹到成虫的阶段，蛛形纲动物的卵一孵化就是跟成体一样的小蜘蛛了。蛛形纲动物大多在陆地生活，大部分为肉食性。有一些的蜘蛛和蝎子有毒，主要用作自卫及捕猎用途，但大部分的蛛形纲都是无毒的。

Arachnids are a class (Arachnida) of joint-legged invertebrate animals (arthropods), in the subphylum Chelicerata. All arachnids have eight legs, although the front pair of legs in some species has converted to a sensory function, while in other species, different appendages can grow large enough to take on the appearance of extra pairs of legs. The term is derived from the Greek word ἀράχνη (aráchnē), meaning "spider".
