LGC

LGC is a British independent, science-based service company providing chemical, biochemical and DNA based analysis. It was formed in 1996 after the privatisation of the Laboratory of the Government Chemist, and still has a statutory role as the Government Chemist. Since privatisation it has expanded from 270 staff in 1996 to over 1500 in 2010 and is Europe's largest, independent analytical laboratory.
