兔属（学名：Lepus）是兔形目兔科下的一属动物，也是兔科的模式属。本属的兔子十分灵活，当中欧洲野兔能以时速72公里奔跑。本属的兔子通常是独自或成对生活的。

在英文中，常与粗毛兔属（Caprolagus）及岩兔属（Pronolagus）中的四个物种合称为“hare”（意为“野兔”）。

在北美洲的北极地区较为普遍的是白靴兔，南部则以加利福尼亚兔、草原兔及其他物种较为普遍。

它们一般都是害羞的动物，并会在春天改变其行为模式。雄兔会在白天互相追逐，来显示自己的优越性。而雌兔则会「拳击」雄兔，目的似乎是表示牠们未有准备交配，或是测试雄兔的决心。

Hares and jackrabbits are leporids belonging to the genus Lepus. Hares are classified into the same family as rabbits. They are similar in size and form to rabbits and eat the same diet. They are generally herbivorous and long-eared, they are fast runners, and they typically live solitarily or in pairs.
