利奥·西拉德（英语：Leó Szilárd；匈牙利语：Szilárd Leó；1898年2月11日－1964年5月30日）,匈牙利─美国物理学家和发明家。他在1933年构思了核连锁反应，与恩里科·费米共同获得了核反应堆的专利，并于1939年撰写了由阿尔伯特·爱因斯坦签署的信件，促成了研发原子弹旳曼哈顿计划。他构思了电子显微镜。他还构思了直线粒子加速器（时为1928年，对于之前古斯塔夫·伊辛于1924年发表的期刊论文，及罗夫·威得娄成功制造出该设备，西拉德并不知晓）和回旋加速器。他本人并没有制作出上述的设备，也没有在科学期刊发表上述构思，因此很多时候这些贡献并没有归入他的名下，而是给了其他人。所以西拉德并没有获得过诺贝尔物理学奖，但是他的两项发明却获得了这个奖项。

Leo Szilard (Hungarian:Szilárd Leó; pronounced [ˈsila:rd ˈlɛo:]; German:Leo Spitz until age 2; February 11, 1898 – May 30, 1964) was a Jewish Hungarian-American physicist and inventor. He conceived the nuclear chain reaction in 1933, patented the idea of a nuclear reactor with Enrico Fermi, and in late 1939 wrote the letter for Albert Einstein's signature that resulted in the Manhattan Project that built the atomic bomb.
