利什曼原虫
利什曼原虫泛指利什曼属的锥虫科原虫，是一种会引起利什曼病的寄生虫，在旧大陆的传播过程中是利用一种白蛉属的沙蝇为媒介，在新大陆的传播媒介则为沙蝇属(Lutzomyia)的沙蝇。利什曼原虫的主要宿主为脊椎动物，常见的感染对象包括蹄兔目、啮齿目、犬科、和人类。目前全世界有88个国家报告过利什曼原虫症的病例，感染人数达1,200万人。

Leishmania 利什曼原虫
Leishmania /liːʃˈmeɪnɪə/ is a genus of trypanosomes that are responsible for the disease leishmaniasis. They are spread by sandflies of the genus Phlebotomus in the Old World, and of the genus Lutzomyia in the New World. At least 93 sandfly species are proven or probable vectors worldwide. Their primary hosts are vertebrates; Leishmania commonly infects hyraxes, canids, rodents, and humans.
