Kuils River (Afrikaans: Kuilsrivier) is a town in the Western Cape province, South Africa 25 km east of Cape Town.
Originally named De Cuylen, Kuils River was a post of the Dutch East India Company. It developed into a village during the 18th century and attained municipal status in 1950. The town takes its name from the nearby river, in which there are many pools, or kuile.
