基因剔除小鼠是一种遗传工程技术下利用基因剔除技术所做出的一或多个基因变异的小鼠。广义来说，当小鼠体内的特定基因被剔除称之。此技术为用来观察并研究活体内基因表现的工具之一。此外，更可借由基因剔除后对小鼠所产生的变化，精确地了解人类先天基因缺损所造成疾病的致病机转，也是此技术的重大优点之一。

A knockout mouse or knock-out mouse is a genetically modified mouse (Mus musculus) in which researchers have inactivated, or "knocked out", an existing gene by replacing it or disrupting it with an artificial piece of DNA. The loss of gene activity often causes changes in a mouse's phenotype, which includes appearance, behavior and other observable physical and biochemical characteristics.
