纸钱纸钱又称冥纸、冥镪、金纸、银纸、纸楮等,琉球语称为打纸Tom仔(打チ纸、ウチカビ)或纸钱(纸钱、カビジン),是东亚传统祭祀鬼神、祖先时火化的祭祀品之一。 大多数纸钱是必须用火焚化的。不过有几种不必焚烧的纸钱,如墓纸即为其一。古代墓祭用彩色纸剪成长缕,悬挂墓上称为挂钱,继承古俗,现代墓纸也不用烧,扫墓时用碎石子、土块压在坟墓上,代表修缮坟墓之意。在死者丧事、移动棺材时,也有家属会将纸钱洒在道路、河川上,以供路上、河川的鬼神花用,避免刁难死者亡魂,称为「买路钱」。早时每至险阻、意外频生之地,则会沿路丢洒纸钱,以安山川神鬼,枉死孤魂,避免其恶作剧甚至捉拿替身。另也有人在棺材中放入纸钱陪葬的。
