中风（英语：stroke），又称作脑血管事件（英语：cerebrovascular event，简称CVE）、脑血管意外（英语：cerebrovascular accident，简称CVA）、脑血管病变（英语：cerebrovascular insult，简称CVI）、或脑病突发（brain attack），是指脑部缺血造成的脑细胞死亡。中风分为两种类型：一种是由血管阻塞所造成的缺血性脑中风；一种是由出血所造成的出血性脑中风。不论是缺血性或是出血性脑中风都会造成脑功能异常。常见的中风症状包括无法移动单侧的肢体或者是一边的身体没有感觉、无法理解别人的话、不能说话、感觉天旋地转、其中一边的视野看不到等等。中风的症状通常在发生后很快就会出现，如果症状在二十四小时内消失，我们有时会称它为「暂时性脑缺血（英语：transient ischemic attack，简称TIA）」。出血性中风的患者可能会伴随着突发而严重的头痛。中风的症状有可能会成为永久性的后遗症，中风的患者也可能会有肺炎、尿失禁等长期后遗症。世界卫生组织在20世纪70年代给出中风的传统定义是：「24小时以上脑神经功能缺损，或在24小时内死亡」。中风定义中的「24小时」是用以区别暂时性脑缺血（定义为在24小时内症状完全消失）。中风患者如果能尽快接受治疗，可以减少留下永久损伤的机会。
