印度次大陆（又称南亚次大陆或印巴孟次大陆）是喜马拉雅山脉以南的一大片半岛形的陆地，亚洲大陆的南延部分。大体位于北纬8-37度，东经61-97度。由于受喜马拉雅山阻隔，形成一个相对独立的地理单元，但面积又小于通常意义上的大陆，所以称为次大陆。总面积约为430万平方公里，人口约为16亿。

印度次大陆的国家大体位于印澳板块，也有一些位于南亚。当中，印度、印度河以东的巴基斯坦、孟加拉、尼泊尔和不丹位处大陆地壳上；岛国斯里兰卡位处大陆架；岛国马尔代夫位处海洋地壳。

The Indian subcontinent or the subcontinent is a southern region of Asia, mostly situated on the Indian Plate and projecting southwards into the Indian Ocean from the Himalayas. Definitions of the extent of the Indian subcontinent differ but it usually includes the core lands of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh; Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives are often included as well. The region is also called by a number of other names including South Asia, a name that is increasingly popular in academia and the US.
