IEEE-488 是一种用于短程通信的总线规范。在1960年代末期，为了把计算机自动控制技术融入电子测量之中而创建这个规范，其至今仍在使用当中。IEEE-488创建时为 HP-IB（Hewlett-Packard Interface Bus），但一般被当成 GPIB（General Purpose Interface Bus）。GPIB也是另外一些标准的主要内容。
