葛饰北斋（ 日语：葛饰 北斎／かつしか ほくさい 1760年10月31日－1849年5月10日），本名中岛时太郎，1760年生于江户（现东京），是日本江户时代后期的浮世绘师，日本化政文化的代表人物。他14岁学雕版印刷，18岁便和另一位浮世绘师胜川春章学画，开始了自己漫长且多产的画画生涯——但葛饰却是等到了60岁以后才开始出名的。1826年，为了配合当时的日本内地旅游业的发展（多半也因为个人对富士山的情有独钟），北斋以富士山不同角度的样貌为题，创作了《富岳三十六景》一系列的风景画，因而远近驰名，其中以《赤富士》和《神奈川冲浪里》最为知名。

Katsushika Hokusai(葛饰 北斎,  listen , supposedly October 31, 1760 – May 10, 1849) was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. He was influenced by such painters as Sesshu, and other styles of Chinese painting. Born in Edo (now Tokyo), Hokusai is best known as author of the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji(富岳三十六景,Fugaku Sanjūroku-kei, c. 1831) which includes the internationally recognized print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, created during the 1820s.
