番荔枝科（Annonaceae）在生物分类学上是双子叶植物纲木兰目中的最大的一个科。约有120-130属，2300-2500种，是木兰目中最大的科。有的果实可食，有的可材用，有些为观赏植物。大多分布在热带地区，少数分布在温带地区。约有900种分布在新热带，约有450种分布在非洲，其余的种类分布在亚洲。

番荔枝科的模式属为番荔枝属。植株为乔木、灌木或藤本植物。叶为单叶，互生，有叶柄，叶缘全缘，无托叶。花辐射对称，通常为两性花。大多数的种类有三片萼片，萼片基部合生，有六片花瓣，花瓣颜色由褐色至黄色，雄蕊多数，螺旋状排列，雌蕊多数。子房一室，具有多个胚珠。花有时会直接生长在树干上，果实为浆果。

The Annonaceae are a family, the custard apple family, of flowering plants consisting of trees, shrubs, or rarely lianas. With 2106 accepted species and more than 130 genera, it is the largest family in Magnoliales. Several genera produce edible fruit, most notably Annona, Anonidium, Asimina, Rollinia, and Uvaria. Its type genus is Annona. The family is concentrated in the tropics, with few species found in temperate regions. About 900 species are Neotropical, 450 are Afrotropical, and the other species Indomalayan.
