Karl Herxheimer

Karl Herxheimer (June 26, 1861 – December 6, 1942) was a German-Jewish dermatologist who was a native of Wiesbaden.
He studied medicine at the universities of Freiburg, Strasborg and Würzburg, receiving his doctorate in 1885 with a thesis on cerebral syphilis. Following graduation he worked as an assistant to Karl Weigert at the Institute of Pathology in Frankfurt am Main, and to Albert Neisser at the university skin clinic in Breslau.
