数学上，特别是泛函分析中，希尔伯特空间中的每个线性算子有一个相应的伴随算子（adjoint operator）。算子的伴随将方块矩阵共轭转置推广到（可能）无穷维情形。如果我们将希尔伯特空间上的算子视为“广义复数”，则一个算子的伴随起着一个复数的共轭的作用。
一个算子A的伴随常常也称为埃尔米特伴随（Hermitian adjoint，以夏尔·埃尔米特命名），记作A或A（后者尤其用于狄拉克符号记法）。

Adjoints of operators generalize conjugate transposes of square matrices to (possibly) infinite-dimensional situations. If one thinks of operators on a complex Hilbert space as "generalized complex numbers", then the adjoint of an operator plays the role of the complex conjugate of a complex number. |
