龙涎香（英语：Ambergris），在西方又称灰琥珀，是一种外貌阴灰或黑色的固态腊状可燃物质，从抹香鲸消化系统所产生。其味甘、气腥、性涩，具有行气活血、散结止痛、利水通淋、理气化痰等功效；用于治疗咳喘气逆、心腹疼痛等症。龙涎香有其独特的甘甜土质香味（类似异丙醇的气味）。现在它已经大部分为化学合成物取代，龙涎香历史上主要用来当做香水的定香剂。汉代，渔民在海里捞到一些成品龙香，干燥后能发出持久的香气，点燃时更是香味四溢，于是被当着宝物贡献给皇上，在宫庭里用作香料，或作为药物，并叫做「龙涎香」。而欧洲人把龙涎香叫做「琥珀香」，罗马人叫做「撒克」，法国人叫做「黄色的香料」，英国人干脆就叫做「琥珀」。
